Well, we did it! The course ended Friday and we passed with the highest marks. I know, it sounds really British to say that... but it sounds so much cooler than grades. It makes me feel like I went to Hogwarts for a month. Anyway, this was a really great experience! The course has a respected reputation, and after going through the course, it deserves it.
The instructors were a lot of fun and really knew what they were talking about. They each had an area of expertise and challenged us in different ways. But they all expected the world of us. (Sounds like music!) We feel prepared to teach English here in Prague and are very excited to start.
You might be wondering... what is next? Well, Mariah and I have been apartment hunting and have an appointment Monday to see two apartments. So fingers crossed there because we need to be out of the TEFL house by Thursday. You may be saying, Wow! Shouldn't you have been doing this a while ago? Here is the thing, with this course it is impossible to apartment hunt full time and do all the course work. Also, that isn't the Czech way. They are very lax about things like this, which can be unnerving, but we make it work. We have total faith that we will find somewhere =) So stay tuned for more on the apartment situation.
Since we graduated from the program with Pass 1 grades, we are guaranteed jobs with the Caledonian School, which is where we earned our certificate. So we have interviews on Monday and Tuesday this week and expect to start next week =)
